Discover the Shimano Purist PX1 Deadbait range - spinning rods specially designed for pike and zander fishing with deadbait.
The Purist PX1 range has been designed for anglers who prefer to fish for pike and zander with deadbait. Combining excellent value for money with classic, understated aesthetics and actions of premier order, there are two powerful models for pike and a lighter model specially designed for zander. If you're a keen carnivore angler who likes to fish for pike and zander on deadbait, or an angler who concentrates on winter-only carnivore fishing, the Purist Deadbait range has something for you. There are three models in the range. The more court 10' (305cm) pike model balances perfectly with the smaller Shimano Baitrunners and is ideal for short-range fringe fishing, fishing from a boat or concentrating on smaller waters. The longer 12' pike model fits larger Shimano Baitrunners and offers a little more power and casting performance. If you're a pike-perch specialist, you'll certainly appreciate the more court 8' 10 (270cm) model, whose casting range is much lighter (up to 15g), making it ideal for smaller baits and indulgent fishing action. At the heart of the Purist PX1 Deadbait rod is an all-carbon blank. It has been developed to combine the power needed to defeat big pike and zander, while absorbing aggressive head strikes and big rushes. The pike models throw big baits without fear, while the zander model has a smooth action that produces an excellent fighting experience. All models feature a classic cork handle, a custom DPS reel seat and Shimano Hardlite rings that reinforce the classic look. The two-piece design makes carrying the rods more convenient and the inclusion of a line clip means you can fish free spool, or even open bail, a practical option even on fast-flowing rivers or in windy conditions.
